What the heck is Fumin? We asked the same thing when we first tried this wine. Fumin is a little known red grape indigineous to the Valle d'Aosta region of Italy. Its name comes from "fumo" which means smoke in Italian, and this unruly little red grape has struggled to make a name for itself until recently. When we drink this Fumin, smoke is the last thing on our minds - we taste tart and ripe red and black fruit, with super smooth tannins and balanced acidity. This playful red is so versatile and easy to like, it certainly has a place on the dinner table...at least on ours :)
